A: Cute!
We bought this book for friends who are due to have a baby soon and are planning to name him Charlie. My 17 month old son saw me take it out of the box and was devastated that he could not have it. He was very attracted to the bright colors and the textures. My only complaint about this book (and the others in the series) is that the title character (in this case, Charlie Monkey) never appears in the story. He is just on the front cover. Other than that, it's a very fun book for little ones.
B: My son loves it!
He knows that if he opens the book to the last page, it makes a noise so of all the books on his bookshelf, he usually picks this book to play with.
C: Perfect for a 1-year old!
My son's babysitter gave this to him for his 1st birthday. He's 15 months now and still loves the book. The simple rhymes are lyrical, yet make sense. Each character has a body part that is texturized, so we've used this to teach him his teeth, ears, nose, and hair. I'm looking online now to order the other books in the series.
D: Great for little minds.
My 8 month old loves this book. It's got an almost plastic type hard cover to it, so it won't disintegrate when she tries to eat it, like most other board books do. It's got big pictures with a simple color scheme that is just perfect at this age. My husband actually thought the book was broken because only the last page made noise - but he didn't actually read the book. The noise is supposed to be flies, which is what the lion doesn't like. There is other stimuli in the book, but the flies was a nice touch.
